Happy New Year!

December 31st, 2010

I have been away from blogging the last several months (at least not with the frequency I desired) as life has been chaotic. And so I thought it appropriate to close our 2010 with a blog entry – and here’s to a fabulous 2011!

I don’t “do” resolutions (as if I should do something, why wait until January 1st?), but I do think about plans and strategies for the new year. It is a great time to take a step back and THINK. What worked in 2010? What didn’t work? Does it matter? In general, I focus on strengths (what’s worked) and NOT on weaknesses (with the exception of ensuring a weakness isn’t a liability). How can you leverage what you learned in 2010? What do you want to learn in 2011? There are countless questions to ponder. I wonder what would happen if you took 1 hour to think through your plans…….it could result in a spectacular 2011.

I’ll be watching fireworks at midnight. And, I’m reminded of my childhood years – such fun. We typically went to dinner and a movie and then stayed up until midnight to ring in the new year. I have pictures of my brothers and I dancing with new years hats in a circle…… certainly looked like fun. And definitely my favorite movie at the time was Puff the Magic Dragon.
