Lisa Anderson Speaks at IUMI International Conference on the State of the Global Supply Chain

I was honored to speak at the International Union of Marine Insurance (IUMI) Annual Conference, one of the premier global events bringing together leaders from the marine insurance, shipping, logistics, and international trade communities. Held in Edinburgh, Scotland, the conference provides a forum for discussing the issues shaping global commerce and supply chain risk.

During my presentation, “State of the Global Supply Chain: Supply Chains Are on the Move,” I shared perspectives on the rapidly changing global supply chain landscape and the strategies organizations can use to build resilience while positioning themselves for profitable growth.

The presentation explored several of the most significant trends affecting global supply chains, including:

  • Geopolitical risk and shifting global trade patterns
  • Reshoring, nearshoring, and regional manufacturing strategies
  • Transportation bottlenecks and global logistics challenges
  • Talent, automation, artificial intelligence, and supply chain technology
  • Customer-centric supply chain strategies
  • SIOP (Sales Inventory Operations Planning) as the framework for aligning strategy with execution and creating predictable growth

Although the specific issues facing global supply chains continue to evolve, the central message remains the same: organizations that proactively assess risk, strengthen visibility, leverage technology, and build resilient supply chains will be best positioned to capitalize on opportunities in an increasingly dynamic global environment.

Thank you to IUMI for the opportunity to contribute to this important international discussion and to engage with professionals dedicated to strengthening global trade and supply chain resilience.
